Here we go again!

Well, it has been FOREVER since my last post! As you know, I tried to blog on another website, but I just wasn't crazy about that format, so it made me not enjoy using it. So I am back on blogger! Also, I found out how crazy it is to be a new mommy! So I am going to try to do this again...yes, I know...

"Amy, you are about to have ANOTHER baby! And now you want to start this again?"

Yes, I do! I really want to do it becuase I love to share about my family to our friends and family and not everyone is on facebook and I think this will be the next easiest way to share!

So here we go again!!!

Week 31

Week 31!! Only nine more weeks to go! Tom and I are trying to get the final things we need to be ready for Griffin's arrival! We can't wait to meet him. We are excited, nervous, anxious...all the things that new parents feel!
We had a great Thanksgiving holiday this year! Family and Friends!

My cousin-in-law got to feel Griffin kick for the first time! I think it's so amazing when someone feels him! The look on their face is so great! Rachel said she almost cried. She had never felt a baby kick before! I'm so glad I got to share that with her!

He has been kicking up a storm lately! He is definitely still a ninja baby!

The other day Tom and I were in the car listening to my iPod. I had recently downloaded Brad Paisley's new album and Tom asked me if I had heard one of the songs. When I said no he told me to play that one. I almost cried!

The song is called "Anything Like Me".

And here are the lyrics:

I remember sayin' I don't care either way
Just as long as he or she is healthy I'm ok
Then the doctor pointed to the corner of the screen
And said "Ya see that thing right there well ya know what that means"
And I started wondering who he was going to be
And I thought heaven help us if hes anything like me

He'll probably climb a tree to tall and ride hes bike to fast
End up every summer wearin something in a cast
He's gonna throw a ball and break some glass in a window down the street
He's gonna get in trouble oh he's gonna get in fights
I'm gonna lose my temper and some sleep
It's safe to say that I'm gonna get my pay back if he's anything like me

I can see him right now knees all skinned up
With a magnifying glass tryin to melt the Tonka truck
Won't he be a sight with his football helmet on
That'll be his first love 'til his first love comes along
He'll get his heart broke by the time he's in his teens
And heaven help him if he's anything like me

He'll probably stay out to late and drive his car to fast
Get a speeding ticket that he'll pay for mowing grass
He's gonna get caught skippin' class and be grounded for a week
He's gonna get in trouble we're gonna get in fights
I'm gonna lose my temper and some sleep
It's safe to say that I'm gonna get my pay back if hes anything like me

He's gonna love me and hate me along the way
Years are gonna fly by I already dread the day
He's gonna hug his momma he's gonna shake my hand
He's gonna act like he can't wait to leave
But as he drives out he'll cry his eyes out
If he's anything like me

There's worse folks to be like
Aw he'll be alright if he's anything like me

I love that song! I really recommend listening to it! I just love Brad Paisley!

Last night I had the most amazing dream!

I dreamt that the baby was here! I was holding him and I didn't want to put him down. I kept looking at him and saying I can't believe he's finally here. Then when my alarm went off this morning I was sad. I wanted to go back to sleep and see him again.

It was one of those dreams that felt so real that when I did wake up I just knew that I had held him. It was the craziest feeling because I was sad that he was gone. I can't wait until I get to hold him again.

The Nursery!

I have the BEST HUSBAND IN THE WORLD!!!

While I was out of town last week with my mom, my husband painted the nursery and went with my dad to pick up all the furniture, and he put it all together!

Tom HATES to paint! So the fact that he did this all on his own is really special to me!

We had talked about what we wanted and picked out the paint colors together, but I had no idea it would look so good! When I walked in and looked around, I burst into tears! I ablsoutely LOVE this room! It's so much better than I pictured!

Here it is:

My big comfy chair! I love it!

Changing table and closet

His closet is almost full already!

I have to say again that I have the best hubby in the world! He made me such a happy Mommy-to-be!

We still have to decorate the room, but I am so impressed with the way it looks now. I go in there and sit and look around all time. I can't wait to be in there with my little boy!

Busy Times!

Wow, things have been crazy! I guess they aren't going to settle down now for at least about 18 years, huh?!

Last week I went on vacation with my mom to East Tennessee. We wanted to have one last girls vacation before the baby comes. We decided to go there so that we could relax and just do whatever we wanted to do! Which is exactly what we did! We had a great trip!

Here is my favorite picture from our trip! Love you Mama!!

I am now in week 29 of the pregnancy, which just seems crazy to me!

Here is my 27 week belly shot!

And the Mommy View!

Wow, it's getting way out there!

Here is a pic of my 28 week belly. We were on the balcony of our "home for the week" in Gatlinburg. It was so beautiful...most of the time!

Here's a better shot. On the road to Cade's Cove!

The day before Mom and I left for Gatlinburg, I had another baby shower! This one was given to me by my mom's friends. And my mom! She keeps saying she wasn't a hostess, but I think she was!

Anyway, Sonia and Jan were my hostesses. The party was at Jan's house...she has a BEAUTIFUL house! And Sonia made all the food...which was AMAZING!!

Here are some pictures of the party!

These were so yummy!

Food that Sonia made! That broccoli salad was awesome!

More food and punch!

Week 26

I am finally in my third trimester! Woohoo! Wow! I can't believe it!

I have had a pretty tough week this week. On Monday, I had a pain in my lower left abdomen that got continually worse as the evening went on. Tuesday morning I told Tom that I didn't think he needed to go to work and instead needed to take me to the hospital. I had this pain all night long and laid in bed thinking of all the things that could be wrong...not a good idea

I got worked into my doctors office on Tuesday. I was checked out to make sure I wasn't dilating and therefore in labor. No worries. The doc said I was definitely not in labor. But he sent me for an ultrasound just to make sure everything was ok.

The ultrasound was good. They checked my ovaries to make sure there weren't any cysts and also checked on the baby. I did ask if she could tell yet if he was big. She said he was measuring about a week and a half farther along than I actually am! I knew he was going to be big! She said as of right now they won't change my due date, but that could change if he keeps getting bigger!

I was told to rest for a week and the pain, which I was told was round ligament pain that was more severe than what I had before, should go away. It is much better now. Only hurts a little and I am hoping that tomorrow it will be gone completely!

After leaving that doctor's office, I had to go to the neurologists office for an appointment about my carpal tunnel. That was an interesting experience! I had to have a nerve test, which was surprisingly painful! The woman who did it told me it would just sting a little, but not actually hurt...I think she was on crack! It hurt like hell!!

The result was the doctor told me I have moderate to severe nerve damage in my first two fingers on my right hand. He seems a little surprised by that. He told me to come back in four months and we will see if it has gone down since the delivery. So I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do until then...just deal with it and hope it doesn't get any worse, I guess.

Then to add to my wonderful week, I wokeup this morning with the worst crick in my neck. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the pregnancy, but I know that I have never had one hurt this bad before!

I am SERIOUSLY falling apart!

On a much better note...I had my first baby shower last weekend! It was so great! My cousin-in-law threw the shower for me and she did a wonderful job!

Here are some pictures from the shower!

Here is the table. It's so pretty! You can't see it in this picture, but the cheese is cut out in little ducky shapes! And the cupcakes have little toppers that say "It's a boy" and the letter G! I just love it!

Here is the ducky cheese!

Here is my mom and Rachel (the hostess) making the "Pregatini" drinks!

Andrea and me before the party begins.

Yes, they made me measure the belly!

The highchair from my Granny!

Me, Andrea and Courtney...my two best friends!
Presents:

T-shirt from my Aunt Lynn! Very appropriate coming from her! She also got Griffin his first pair of Air Jordans!

My pretty Mommy! Mimi-to-be!

My cousins-in-law! Rachel and Misty!

This is one of the bumpers of the bedding that my mom bought for us! I love it! You can't really tell, but it's lime green with paisleys, chocolate, and royal blue!
Definitely the "biggest" gift that I got was from my dad and Carolyn. They got us ALL of our nursery furniture! The crib, dresser and hutch, and glider and ottoman. They were printed on paper that I unfolded. I was so overwhelmed when I realized what they were that I couldn't stop crying.

I got all kinds of great gifts! Thank you to everyone who was there! I love you all very much!

Rachel put everything back in the bags they came in and when I got home Tommy got to open them! That was fun!

I had a great time at this shower and I cannot thank Rachel enough for everything she did! I am blessed to have the friends and family that I do!
